Buildings & Grounds
As you enter the campus from Salem Drive off of Park Road, our main parking lot provides easy access to three adjoining buildings.
The sanctuary is our home for worship, and it can accommodate over 300 people for worship. On the north side of the big red door facing Park Road is a cornerstone naming Holy Comforter the “Bishop Thomas Atkinson Memorial Church” where we began worship in 1957. Behind the altar is our beautiful Tiffany Window given in memory of Lamb Smith who died in 1919 in the influenza pandemic. Along the nave (central portion) of the church, our stained glass windows, designed by former Rector Ken Henry, trace the life and ministries of Jesus Christ.
The Atkinson building is home for Henry Hall, our fellowship hall named for former rector Ken Henry. In this space is our kitchen, library, EYC (Episcopal Youth Community), and hallway access to the sanctuary. Downstairs is the church nursery, classrooms for La Escuelita Weekday School, and choir rooms.
The Van Every building was added in 2009, and it is where we have administrative offices for staff, meeting rooms, Loaves & Fishes food pantry, Boy Scouts, and more classrooms for La Escuelita Weekday School.
Outside on the south side of our front door facing Park Rd. is our recently renovated Memorial Garden which provides eternal rest for parishioners who have passed before us. We also have a children’s playground, the Van Every courtyard, and our main parking lot.
